The Plastic Toyshop

In room five we had to describe what we saw in this picture of a toyshop using present tense and our senses including smells, sights, sounds, feelings, and sensations. Here is the writing I've done about the plastic toyshop.

                                 The Plastic Toyshop

                                           By Rawiri

I walk into a toy shop that’s stuffed with a variety of plastic toys and items including the chairs and water cooler and I start feeling a little dizzy because of all the bright vivid colours. The toy shop is packed with toys that are bright fluorescent colours that lash out at me and sparkle.

I am  just about to faint as I walk down the aisles full from top to bottom with luminous yellow plastic ducks, guns that are spread all across the wall,  velvety brown giant gorillas and Mario, Spiderman and a Smurf all on brightly coloured motorbikes that are rubber band powered.

The flooded store looks like an ocean of neon plastic toys. It is the largest wholesale market I had ever seen in my entire life. I can't believe my eyes. There is nothing but plastic flooding my eyes.

I can’t concentrate with the sound of the clicking keyboard from the shop owner typing on her computer. There is also the sound of people walking in and out of the shop and someone that I think is the shop owners daughter twirling on the spinning chair.

It makes feel so angry to think what will happen to all this plastic when people buy it and just throw it away without caring. This plastic going into the ocean has to stop. So let's stop now!

  1. Hi Rawiri, from your description you sound completely overwhelmed by the amount of plastic and by all the bright colours. You've used a wide variety of different words to describe the colours and you've created a very vivid description - well done.
