New Zealand Facts

Today in room five we had to post on our blog three fun facts about New Zealand for the first activity of the Summer Learning Journey. We had to choose the three we liked the best out of the twenty facts there were. Here are the three that I chose. Hope you enjoy.😁

  1. Hello Rawiri,

I'm Evelyn and I will be working with the Summer Learning Journey team for 2018-2019 to read and follow amazing blog posts like yours! I am so excited to read what pops into that wonderful brain of yours and hope you have fun on this journey!

Those are some interesting facts about New Zealand and I love the way you have presented your work, well done Rawiri! You have used a good selection of pictures and colour to represent your facts. I have lived here my whole life and had no idea about these facts so thank you for telling me more about my country! Make sure you remember to put information into your own words next time. Many people go to ski and snowboard at Mount Ruapehu in the North Island of New Zealand. I went there to ski when I was around 6 years old so I don't remember much of the trip. Have you been to Mount Ruapehu before? Have you been skiing or snowboarding before? My hands and fingers get super cold very easily so I don't do many winter sports activities too often. If you ever go into the snow, make sure you keep warm with scarves and gloves! Does it snow in winter where you live?

    Happy blogging,
    Evelyn :D

  2. Kia ora Rawiri,

It's great to see you using images to illustrate your blog posts. Every time that we use an image on our blog, it's really important that we tell our readers where we found it, and give credit to the owner of the picture. To properly credit a picture you will need to include a link to the site where you found the image. We have created a guide that you might find helpful. You can check it out here:

You will need to follow these instructions to earn full points for any Summer Learning Journey activity that has asked you to post an image.

    Keep up the good work,
    Evelyn :)
